Most homeowners insurance policies provide a package of coverages. The main types of coverage are described below. Keep in mind that you’re
covered only if the loss is caused by a peril your policy covers. For example, if your home becomes unlivable due to an earthquake and your
homeowners policy doesn’t cover earthquakes, your policy won’t pay for loss of use of your home. Review your policy for the limits of your coverage.

COVERAGE A: Dwelling
Pays for damage to your house and to structures attached to your house. This includes damage to fixtures, such as plumbing, electrical wiring, heating
and permanently installed air-conditioning systems.

COVERAGE B: Other Structures
Pays for damage to fences, tool sheds, freestanding garages, guest cottages and other structures not attached to your house.

COVERAGE C: Personal Property
Reimburses you for the value of your possessions, including furniture, electronics, appliances and clothing, damaged even when they aren’t on your
property, such as those at an off-site storage locker or with your child at college.

COVERAGE D: Loss of Use
Pays some of your additional living expenses while your home is being repaired.

COVERAGE E: Personal Liability
Covers your financial loss if you are sued and found legally responsible for injuries or damages to someone else.

COVERAGE F: Medical Expenses
Pays medical bills for people hurt on your property or hurt by your pets.

There are many endorsements that can be added to your customized policy, but here are just two of the ones that we feel are most important based
off industry statistics, knowledge, and experience.

Is the liability insurance you have with your auto or home policy enough to cover all your assets? A severe car accident or mishap on your property
could trigger a costly legal claim in excess of the liability insurance coverage you have on your auto or home.

What is umbrella insurance?
Umbrella insurance provides an additional layer of personal liability protection. A single policy covers all underlying policies you own (auto, home,
motorcycle, boat, etc.) and kicks in if the liability limits on these policies are exhausted. And compared to the risk of a catastrophic event, Liberty
Mutual Umbrella Insurance is affordable; for about a dollar a day1, you can have the peace of mind that comes with $1 million in coverage.

While floods are probably best known for causing extensive water damage to homes and businesses, they can also cause sewage from sanitary sewer
lines to back up into houses through drain pipes. These backups not only cause damage that is difficult and expensive to repair, but also create health
hazards, and unfortunately most homeowner and business insurance policies do not cover sewer backup unless specific sewer backup coverage is
added to the policy.

Homeowners and business owners may also not realize that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of their house or sewer lateral – the
pipeline between the city sanitary sewer main, usually located under the street, and the building. The sewer lateral is owned and maintained by the
property owner including any part that may extend into the street or public right of way.

A cracked or deteriorated lateral or one filled with tree roots can allow groundwater to seep into the system, contributing to the possible sewer backup
Your home is the center of your daily life, and likely your most valuable asset. When your home is damaged or destroyed, you need your claim settled
by an insurance company that understands this simple fact.

Depending on where you live – a house, apartment, or condominium – the right home insurance policy can provide you peace of mind as well as the
money you need to repair or replace your home and/or belongings. You need enough insurance to cover the cost of rebuilding your home at current
construction costs. Don't include the cost of the land. And don't base your rebuilding costs on the price you paid for your home. The cost of rebuilding
could be more or less than the price you paid or could sell it for today.
